Our first blog post! On behalf of everyone at Troup Consulting, let me just say that we are incredibly excited to launch an official Troup Consulting Blog. We planned to coincide this launch with a few other exciting things this month. Not only is Cinco de Mayo coming up on Saturday, but we will also be making a special announcement in the next few days, so stay tuned! As we continue to grow, we are looking forward to expanding our outreach to our friends, family, fans and Followers (Tweet, tweet!) and keeping everyone up to date on the work we’re doing.
If you aren’t familiar with us yet, fear not. We’ll fill you in. Headquartered in Los Angeles, Troup Consulting is a corporate strategy and communications firm. We work with Corporate America to make that case that diversity is good for business. We provide our clients with a roadmap to secure a competitive advantage through diversity and inclusion. We specialize in emerging markets – specifically LGBT and Latino consumers.
Now that we’re all acquainted, how about a little history lesson in honor of Cinco de Mayo? As some of you may know, Cinco de Mayo marks an outnumbered Mexican army’s victory over an invading French army on May 5, 1812 in a town called Puebla, just east of Mexico City. Interestingly enough, the “Festival de Fiesta Broadway” is the world’s largest Cinco de Mayo celebration, held right here in Los Angeles. Attendance for the festival has been known to exceed a whopping 600,000 people each year! Another interesting Cinco de Mayo fact is that more tequila is consumed on this holiday than any other day of the year, but we’re guessing you could have predicted that!
In light of the holiday, we wish you a “Feliz Cinco de Mayo” and invite you to continue checking back to read our upcoming blog posts on hot topics in the LGBT and Latino communities, the intersection of politics and pop culture, social commentary on the world in which we live in, and many other interesting and fun topics. Our blog will provide you with our distinct point of view – perhaps a bit controversial at times, but thought-provoking nonetheless. We hope our blog will educate you, entertain you, motivate you to engage with us and inspire you to see the world of diversity and inclusion a bit differently than you did before.
And there it is…
